Many Tennessee county jails also participate, but the state announcement does not list the exact Jefferson County events supplied.

The matched record must name the custodial agency. A TDOC result covers a state prisoner. A Jefferson County jail event depends on the local agency's participation and feed. If the person left the county jail for TDOC, the county exit was a transfer and the state result may still show incarceration. If a result says released or out of custody, preserve that exact wording and its update time. Do not turn a missing result into proof of release.

When VINE calls, the PIN may be needed to confirm receipt and stop repeat calls. It is not an offender identifier. For email or text, complete the current confirmation prompt. Interface labels can change, so follow the live Tennessee screen and do not rely on an old screenshot for the final click.

Jefferson County Alert Sources

A Jefferson County jail record and a TDOC record answer different questions. County custody includes local pretrial stays, bond releases, dismissals, short sentences, and people waiting for transfer. If the county record disappears while TDOC shows incarceration, the person likely moved into state custody rather than returning to the community. If FOIL says parole or probation, prison custody ended but state supervision continues. “Inactive” requires sentence and court context. For a county-only event, call the Jefferson County Sheriff and Jail at 865-471-6000 and ask whether the person is currently held, released to the community, or transferred.

TBI registries should not be substituted for VINE. They apply only to people with a legal registry duty and can remain active long after release. A person may be released without appearing in any registry. Registry status is not a jail exit record, and a VINE notification is not a registry entry.

Match Jefferson VINELink Records

Identity matching deserves its own check because more than twenty states have a Jefferson County. Confirm that the result belongs to Tennessee, then look for TDOC, Jefferson County, Dandridge, or another expected agency clue. A correct identity match still needs status context. “Released” from one agency can be followed by custody elsewhere. “Transferred” means custody continued. A TDOC parole or probation status means confinement ended while supervision remained. Record the agency and event together so the result does not lose that distinction when shared with a family member, lawyer, or other person with a direct need to know.

Note: Use the offender ID and agency name when asking for help; avoid sending more personal information than the office needs to find the record.

Jefferson Alerts and Release Records

VINE is built for notification, not archival proof. It can tell a registrant that a participating source reported a change, but it may not display the release authority, exact destination, bond details, or court disposition. Those facts come from records created by the jail, TDOC, Board, or court. A narrow request should ask for existing documents rather than demand that an office prepare a new timeline.

For a Jefferson County jail event, ask for the booking sheet and release-log entry showing date, time, release type or authority, and transfer destination. Then obtain the relevant bond, judgment, dismissal, probation, or other order from the Circuit and General Sessions Court Clerk.
